Confession time

It is time for me to confess that I am not a very good blogger. I am sure you will be shocked to learn that I also do not keep a journal. I guess that is why I scrapbook . . . to leave a record of my life. Until Monday I thought I was the only person who knew this blog existed. When I was checking a friends blog I saw that she had a link to my blog. It was a little embarrassing to know that it gets updated like semi-annually. I am not sure there will be a huge improvement but maybe I will make more of an effort.

Here is a little of what has happened since the fall. In December I graduated. I am now a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreen's. For the most part I really enjoy my job. The only thing I don't like is the time away from my family.

In March we went to St. George for Hollies dance competition. We like to make a little vacation of it. She did very well in her dances. We also went swimming, hiking and miniature golfing. I will try to see if I can figure out how to post pictures.

Jayson went to Jr. Prom with Kaylie.
In March I also turned 40. It was kind of a hard birthday because I can remember when my parents turned 40. How did I get to be this old?!? The thing about turning 40 is people will say, "Welcome to the club." What club. There is no club. This is just what people who are over 40 say to make themselves feel better about being old. They also say "40 is the new 30". This is said by old people over 40. Anyway, I guess it could be worse. . . I could be turning 50. Ask me how I feel in 10 years and I will probably laugh at how naive I am for thinking 40 is old.

New school year

Jayson and Hollie began a new school year today. Jayson is a senior. He loves high school and loves attending all of the sporting events. Hollie is in the 9th grade. It is hard to believe she is a freshman.

I started my internship for school today. It is at the pharmacy in Walgreens. It was a lot of fun and the people were very nice. I spent most of my time counting and lableing perscriptions. I have to do 180 hours in order to get my license. They have been really good about working around my kids school schedule

I have one more semester of schooling and then I need to pass the national board exam to begin working. The sememster starts tomorrow. It has been a lot of work but will hopefully be worth it soon.

Summer Fun!

We have had a very fun summer! We went to Lagoon two times. The first time we went with my brother Cory and his family. It was his works Lagoon day and we were able to get discount tickets through him. My sister Kristen and her kids and Aleesha and her family also went. We "bounced back" a couple of weeks later (just our family). It is great going with bigger kids because we can all ride all of the rides. The kids love the crazy, wild rides.

We went camping with my family in July. My sister, Aleesha, had a friend with a couple of cabins and they let us use them. We had a great time fishing, hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Jayson caught a little frog that his 3 year old cousing (Zander) decided was caught just for him. Jayson let him hold it and he would not let anyone else hold it. He said, "Jayson gave it to me."

Tanner started back in school on July 27th. He is in the fourth grade. I can not believe he is growing up so fast. I miss him during the day when he is gone.

Hollie left today for girls camp. I hope she has an enjoyable time. They are going to Reid Ranch which sounds more like a resort than a camp. She will be coming home on Friday.

Jayson left today also for scout camp. They were going to Wyoming. They will be fishing and having a great time. He comes home on Saturday.

I have taken three finals. I have one more to go. I am excited finish my schooling in December. Hopefully I will be able to pass the national board exam.

Summer begins

Summer has started off crazy around our house. First, Jayson and Hollie had the opportunity to be a part of the Youth Temple Celebration. They were part of a large production put on by all of the youth in our new temple district. To celebrate the open house of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple the performed at the conference center. Our stake did a 1950's number. It was a great opportunity for them to participate and the rest of us to watch.

The next weekend was crazy at our house. All three kids had medical attention. Jayson had really bad allergies. He asked what he could take and I told him we had Zyrtek, Claritin and benedryl. He said he had tried those. When I asked which one he said all three today. Great idea! I took him to the doctor and they gave him allergy eye drops and singular and said continue with the Zyrtek. He also had bronchitis and a sinus infection as a result of the allergies. He said, "So taking 3 isn't enough. Here is some more. If you are still alive next week come see me." Hollie had a fever that afternoon and that evening she started having difficulty breathing. We took her to instacare and the doctor there called an ambulance. They took us to Primary Children's Hospital and we spent the night there. They determined it was a virus. It was not the flu or swine flu or pneumonia. Then, the next afternoon we took Tanner to insta-care for a mosquito bite. He needed an anti-biotic for it. This is the fifth time he has needed an anti-biotic for a mosquito bite. The pediatrician told me once that he has staff on his skin and when a mosquito bites it pushes the infection into his blood stream. His calf was swollen and warm to the touch and had a red circle about 5 inches across.

Tanner is in swimming lessons. I am continuing to go to school. It is not easy to focus on studying and wanting to attend school when the kids are home having fun.

Hopefully things will settle down and we will have a great summer.

A New Beginning

I am ready to join the blogging world. There are many blogs that I have been "stalking" for a while and have decided to take the plunge. I love to scrapbook, make cards and stamp. I find working with the papers relaxing. I look forward sharing my creations.
